WNAM MONITORING: More than 180 residential buildings are being constructed as part of the second phase of Arkadag City’s development.

Citing the State Committee for the Construction of Arkadag City under the President of Turkmenistan, the report states that the new buildings include thirty-six five-story apartment blocks with 30 units each, thirty-six five-story buildings with 40 units each, twenty-four seven-story buildings with 42 units each, and fourteen nine-story buildings with 54 units each.

In addition, 72 new two-story duplex cottages are being built. These homes will feature smart home technology. The residential complexes are designed with all essential services in mind, including nearby access to educational institutions, retail stores, service centers, and other facilities.

The second phase of the “smart” city’s development will also include the construction of five general education schools, each with a capacity of 720 students; nine kindergartens for 320 children each; a health clinic; a fire station; administrative buildings for the Gorjaw district administration of Arkadag City; a bus terminal; a railway station; a fine carpet production facility; the National Museum of Turkmen Carpets and Handicrafts; parks; and shopping and service centers.

Arkadag City was officially inaugurated on June 29, 2023. The first phase of construction included 336 modern facilities.
