ISLAMABAD ( WNAM REPORET ): A high-level four-member international delegation from Fiji National University (FNU) has arrived in Pakistan on a five-day official visit (June 30 – July 4, 2025) under the Asian Productivity Organization (APO)’s Bilateral Cooperation between NPOs (BCN) initiative. The visit aims to explore Pakistan’s best practices in modern agriculture, with a particular focus on smart farming, water-efficient irrigation, drone technology, and dairy innovation.
To formally welcome the delegation, a high-level introductory meeting was held at the Ministry of Industries and Production, where the delegation was warmly received by the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM), Mr. Haroon Akhtar Khan and the Secretary, Ministry of Industries & Production.
During the meeting, the SAPM appreciated the APO’s efforts in promoting productivity cooperation among member countries and highlighted Pakistan’s commitment to supporting sustainable agriculture through innovation and knowledge-sharing. The emphasized the importance of South-South collaboration and reiterated the government’s support for initiatives that empower small farmers and rural enterprises.
The delegation expressed keen interest in Pakistan’s progress in applying modern technologies to address agricultural challenges. They noted that the mission would provide valuable insights to help transform Fiji’s agricultural sector by adopting scalable and cost-effective solutions learned from Pakistan’s experience.
The visit has been coordinated by the National Productivity Organization (NPO) Pakistan, the implementing arm of the APO. NPO has arranged visits to several leading research institutions and model farms, including:

This initiative not only reinforces Pakistan’s role as a knowledge hub for smart agriculture in the Asia-Pacific region but also paves the way for future collaboration between Fiji and Pakistan in areas of food security, agri-tech, and rural development.
