WNAM REPORT: Turkmenistan’s President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on Monday received credentials from Faryal Leghari, Pakistan’s newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Turkmenistan, according to Turkmenistan’s state news agency.
Leghari thanked the President for the warm welcome and said Pakistan highly values Turkmenistan’s peace-oriented foreign policy. She also conveyed the warm greetings and best wishes of Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif to President Berdimuhamedov and National Leader Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
President Berdimuhamedov expressed his best wishes to the Pakistani leadership and noted the strong ties between the two nations, which are united not only by friendly and brotherly relations but also by shared spiritual, cultural and historical values.
The president emphasized Turkmenistan’s commitment to major regional infrastructure projects, including the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline, as well as fiber-optic and power transmission lines along the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan route. He expressed confidence that Ambassador Leghari would contribute to advancing these initiatives by coordinating efforts between the two countries.
The two sides also highlighted the importance of strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties, and expanding cooperation in education, science, and healthcare.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Ambassador Leghari affirmed her commitment to further strengthening the traditional friendship between Turkmenistan and Pakistan.
