ISLAMABAD ( WNAM REPORT ): Chief Executive Officer IESCO Muhammad Naeem Jan, Chief Engineer Operations Syed Kashif Shah, Chief Engineer O&M Zahid Saleem Usmani, and other senior officers visited the Dhudial area of Chakwal Circle to assess the damage caused to IESCO’s infrastructure due to recent rains and the ongoing power restoration efforts in Talagang, Chakwal, Pind Dadan Khan, and Dhudial Divisions.
SE Chakwal Circle Waheed Abbasi, while briefing the delegation, stated that the distribution system was severely affected by the floods and heavy rainfall. As a result, 99 high-tension (HT) poles and 49 low-tension (LT) poles fell, and 65 transformers were completely damaged and Power supply to a large area adjacent to Chakwal was affected.
Our teams have worked tirelessly round the clock on an emergency basis, managing to restore electricity in more than 80% of the affected areas. However, operations are still facing challenges in some areas due to accumulated rainwater and softened ground conditions.
IESCO CEO Muhammad Naeem Jan appreciated the ongoing power restoration efforts, praised the exemplary performance of officers and staff, and issued directives that all necessary materials must be provided to field formations without any delay for system restoration. He also emphasized that there should be no compromise on the safety of the field staff.
Chairman Union Council Raja Irfan, Union Councilor Malik Zafar, and local residents also met with the IESCO CEO and commended the efforts of IESCO teams for their restoration work.
