The PTI today is a house divided against itself, thanks to its those umpteen leaders each claiming to have the ears of Imran Khan. The cacophony of their drivel over the idiot box daily on important public issues is not liked by well wishers of this party who are fed up with the meaningless twaddle of its so called leaders which is at variance with one another making the confusion worse confounded as it doesn’t make any head or tail on any issue. The well-wishers of Imran Khan believe that he has been let down by his companions. They say that he has to blame none but himself as he has proved to be a poor judge of people because he has not selected right persons for appointment on important jobs whenever his party was in the saddle. Had persons like Haleem Khan for instance been given portfolios on which lesser persons like Buzdar and Ali Amin Gandapur were posted, PTI’s graph would not have fallen today.

Most of the problems being faced by the government today in various sectors of public life are because of lack of good governance and too much interference in the posting and transfer of mandarins. One remembers time when government servants like Patwaris, Tehsildars, Police Sepoys could not be posted in any district without approval or recommendation of the MPA of the area.
Today the political bigwigs play a predominant part in the posting of DC ،SP in every district. In the not-too-distant past no officer was posted as DC or SP unless he had served as AC and DSP in at least two sub divisions and his service record had been unblemished in the same manner. Administrative officers were never even considered for posting as Commissioner or DIG if they hadn’t served successfully as DC and SP in at least two districts and their reputation wasn’t bad. These niceties are no longer observed. Small wonder the quality of public service has gone to the dogs.
