WNAM Monitoring: Tashkent hosted a solemn event on the 32nd anniversary of the establishment of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Defenders of Motherland Day.
Representatives of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Uzbekistan visited the “New Uzbekistan Park – a symbol of the glorious history of the country, rapid transformations, development, and spiritual growth. Flowers were laid at the Independence Monument.
Government and public figures, military personnel, poets and writers, and representatives of the general public were invited to the solemn event on the occasion of Defenders of Motherland Day.
An exhibition was organized at the Friendship of Peoples Art Palace, demonstrating the military potential of the country, its achievements, and innovations in this area.
The congratulatory message of the President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, on the occasion of the 32nd anniversary of the establishment of the Armed Forces and the Defenders of Motherland Day, was read out by the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Lieutenant General Bakhodir Kurbonov.
As noted at the event, the current era of globalization requires the military and the general public to be more vigilant and responsible for the future of the country and the fate of children. Current tasks in this regard were outlined at an expanded meeting of the Republican Council for Spirituality and Enlightenment chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on December 22, 2023.
“Since childhood, I dreamed of becoming a military man”, said the Department Head at the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Lieutenant Colonel, owner of the “Shukhrat” medal, Nodirjon Istamov. “For us, this is not just a profession, but the meaning of life, our main motto”.
During the solemn event, an artistic and musical program glorified Motherland, peaceful and tranquil days, independence, and our brave and devoted military personnel.
The ceremony was attended by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov, the Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva, the Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis Nuriddinjon Ismoilov.
