ZA Bukhari must be turning in his grave over the shabby treatment being meted out by the powers that be to radio Pakistan after the birth of TV in the country. Some radio critics have been demanding since long that there was a need to equip Radio Pakistan with the latest equipment and gadgetry in order to extend range of its audibility far and wide not only inside the country but in central Asia, India, Afghanistan, Iran as well as Bangladesh China and Russia also as this medium of information could have be used to counter India’ s propaganda against us and project Pakistan’s point of view in the languages spoken in the above mentioned countries on many issues. With due deference to TV channels let it be said in all fairness that role of Radio in building public opinion on social and political issues cannot be minimized as a cross section of people living in far flung areas of the country can be reached only through this medium where TV cannot reach for various reasons.

It appears that Trump has taken a leaf out of China’s book and like Beijing America has started to build its influence in the world by making the warring countries to sink their differences and sign peace agreements. There is ,however ,a counter view also which says that behind Trump’s every peace initiative lies hidden his desire to squeeze one benefit or the other from the countries between whom he has brokered a deal. About bridging of gap between Armenia and Azerbaijan by Trump it is being said that American policy makers want a foothold in that area so that America could play its political game to weaken China by sitting close to it.
