WNAM MONITORING: In January-June 2025, the number of foreign visitors to Uzbekistan reached almost 5.3 million. According to the National Statistics Committee, more than 48,500 of them came for medical treatment, indicating significant growth in the medical tourism sector.
This increase is the result of expanding opportunities and improving the quality of medical services in Uzbekistan.
Indeed, the country’s healthcare system is constantly being enhanced, and the number of medical institutions meeting international standards is steadily growing. All this contributes to strengthening Uzbekistan’s competitiveness in the field of medical tourism.
The increase in the number of visitors seeking medical treatment reflects the development of the medical tourism market, which is one of the essential sectors of the country’s economy.
At the same time, the largest share among foreigners arriving in the country is made up of those visiting relatives (3.6 million people). The number of tourists and business travelers is approximately 783,700 and 594,000 people, respectively.
The growth trends in Uzbekistan’s medical tourism are shaping a positive image of the country not only in the Central Asian region but also on a broader scale. This demonstrates the high potential of the country’s healthcare sector at the international level.
