WNAM MONITORING: Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva met in Astana with members of the National Commission on Women’s Affairs and Family and Demographic Policy under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
During the meeting, information was presented on the large-scale reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan to support small business and private entrepreneurship. In particular, more than 40 regulatory documents aimed at business development have been adopted in recent years, over 10 of which concern the support of women’s entrepreneurship.
To encourage women’s entrepreneurial activity and promote their initiatives, a comprehensive support mechanism has been introduced within the Halk Bank system. Through this mechanism, support measures are provided to women entrepreneurs from the initial stage of their activities through to running independent businesses.
During the meeting, participants highlighted Uzbekistan’s experience in supporting women’s initiatives. An exchange of views also took place on strengthening multilateral cooperation, ensuring gender equality, and further enhancing the role of women in family and society.
