Had powers that be taken lesson from the past by timely preemptive measures and demolished all constructions in the way of flow of water in natural waterways a sum of over 9billion rupees would have been saved which now will be spent on renovation of roads and bridges washed away by recent flash flood in the country. What a pity that only 8 countries are responsible for 85 percent of climatic change in the world but many countries including Pakistan are facing its ill effects.
As if the calamities caused by climatic change weren’t enough, dengue fever has raised its ugly head in Pakistan and there are reports of possible break out of polio in the country too. The government will have to take time by the forelock and seek cooperation of the religious circles of the country to counter that element which has been spreading all sorts of false propaganda against polio vaccination and obstructing the vaccination campaign in the country.
