WNAM MONITORING: President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov on Sunday attended informal events of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Tianjin, China.
The gathering brought together leaders of SCO member states and partners, including Chinese President Xi Jinping, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh.
Also in attendance were the heads of government from Egypt, Cambodia, Nepal and Armenia, along with United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres, according to the press service of the President of Uzbekistan.Ahead of the program, foreign guests were welcomed by President Xi and his wife.
The summit concluded with a concert program dedicated to the Tianjin meeting of the SCO.
President Berdimuhamedov arrived in Tianjin to take part in the SCO summit and commemorations marking the 80th anniversary of Victory in World War II.
