Chairperson BISP, Founding President Kurram Women Chamber discuss women’s economic empowerment

ISLAMABAD ( WNAM REPORT ): Chairperson Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), Senator Rubina Khalid, held an important meeting with Dr. Humaera Ambreen, Founding President of the Kurram Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The meeting focused on women’s economic empowerment, promotion of skills development, and expansion of employment opportunities.
*During the meeting, both sides discussed potential collaboration between the Benazir Hunar Programme and the Kurram Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry.* Various proposals were considered to equip women in Kurram Agency with market-relevant skills, provide modern skills training, and create employment opportunities at both household and enterprise levels.
Senator Rubina Khalid stated that the Benazir Income Support Programme not only provides financial assistance to deserving families but also prioritizes empowering women economically through skills development and livelihood opportunities. She emphasized that empowering women in remote and underserved areas remains a key government priority, enabling them to actively participate in economic activities.
Dr. Humaera Ambreen highlighted the ongoing initiatives of the Kurram Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry aimed at strengthening women’s entrepreneurial potential and providing practical training. She also assured full cooperation in working with BISP to enhance women’s skills, promote small businesses, and support local economic development.
