by WNAM:

TASHKENT ( WNAM MONITORING ): As part of the strategic partnership between the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), the Ministry of Preschool and School Education, and UNICEF, as well as the implementation of an investment initiative to strengthen Uzbekistan’s education sector, IsDB President Dr. Muhammad Al Jasser visited the Institute for Retraining and Advanced Training of Managers and Specialists of Preschool Education Organizations.

The visit highlighted IsDB’s support within the framework of the project “Expanding Access to Quality Preschool Education in the Republic of Uzbekistan”, implemented jointly with the Ministry of Preschool and School Education.

As part of the project, which involves an investment of $2.3 million, the Ministry of Preschool and School Education and UNICEF are establishing 11 regional training centers, have launched the first artificial intelligence-based multimedia studio in Tashkent, and are supporting the development of an improved program for teacher training and professional development.

“The implementation of this project is truly inspiring. We see how modern tools unlock the potential of teachers, while the innovative curriculum transforms the approach to educating an entire generation of children. By investing in youth, Uzbekistan is paving the way for long-term prosperity. The Islamic Development Bank is proud to be a partner on this vital path, reaffirming its commitment to ensuring sustainable development and advancing innovative educational reforms in Uzbekistan and beyond”, said IsDB President Muhammad Al Jasser.

As part of this initiative, the Ministry of Preschool and School Education and UNICEF signed agreements worth $19.2 million for the pilot implementation of inclusive education models, the modernization of the national curriculum, and the assessment system.
