ISLAMABAD ( WNAM REPORT): President Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), Sardar Tahir Mehmood, has strongly condemned the recent provocations and unprovoked aggression by Afghan forces along Pakistan’s border regions. Expressing grave concern over these hostileactions, he reaffirmed that there can be no compromise on Pakistan’s defense, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
In a strongly worded statement, Sardar Tahir Mehmood paid glowing tribute to the Pakistan Army for its decisive and professional response to Afghanistan’s aggression. “We take immense pride in the unmatched courage, professionalism, and operational excellence of our armed forces, who have once again demonstrated that Pakistan’s defense remains impregnable,” he said. He lauded the bold and visionary leadership of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff, under whose command the Pakistan Army delivered a powerful and proportionate response, destroying several Afghan posts used for aggression and compelling hostile elements to retreat. “Such a swift and effective counteraction has conveyed a clear message: Pakistan’s sovereignty is non-negotiable,” he added.
The ICCI President stated that the entire nation, including the business and industrial community, stands firmly united behind the armed forces in defending Pakistan’s borders and ensuring national security. “Every member of the business community feels a deep sense of pride and gratitude toward our armed forces. We are ready to extend all possible cooperation and support to strengthen national defense and foster unity at this critical juncture,” he declared.
Sardar Tahir Mehmood emphasized that peace and stability form the cornerstone of economic growth and regional prosperity. He said Pakistan has consistently advocated friendly and cooperative relations with all neighboring countries, including Afghanistan, but aggression and provocations cannot be tolerated under any circumstances. “It is imperative for the Afghan authorities to act responsibly, respect Pakistan’s sovereignty, and focus on promoting peace and cross-border cooperation rather than confrontation,” he urged.
Highlighting the economic dimension, the ICCI President noted that regional trade and connectivity between Pakistan and Afghanistan hold immense potential for mutual benefit —opportunities that can only be realized in an environment of peace and mutual respect.
“Provocations and cross-border aggression only erode trust and hinder the stability essential for sustainable regional development,” he remarked. He reiterated that the business community fully supports the government and the armed forces in all necessary measures to safeguard Pakistan’s borders, protect its people, and uphold national
interests. “The unity and resilience of the Pakistani nation remain our greatest strength. While our armed forces secure the frontiers, the business sector stands as a frontline partner in maintaining economic stability,” Sardar Tahir Mehmood concluded.
