ISLAMABAD ( WNAM REPORT ): The Department of Arabic of Allama Iqbal Open University will host its fourth annual two-day international conference titled “Andalusian Literature: Cultural and Artistic Connections and Influences between the Arab World and the West” on November 25.
Renowned professors, researchers and literary experts from numerous Arab countries including Jordan, Algeria, Oman, Iraq, Morocco and Egypt will participate in the conference. A large number of distinguished scholars from various cities and universities across Pakistan are also expected to attend.
According to the university’s spokesperson, the primary objective of this conference is to highlight the diverse scholarly, cultural, and intellectual dimensions of Andalusian literature, strengthen literary and cultural ties between the Arab world and the West, and promote new trends and possibilities in contemporary Arabic research.
The spokesperson further stated that the conference will feature special keynote lectures, presentation of research papers, and thematic academic sessions. These sessions will include comprehensive discussions on topics such as the historical background of Andalusian literature, its intellectual influences, artistic aesthetics, and its relevance in the modern era.
It is worth mentioning that Allama Iqbal Open University organizes international conferences every year on various topics related to Arabic literature and linguistics, which receive significant recognition in academic and research circles. Previously, the university successfully held the first international conference titled “Arabic Literature in the Subcontinent,” the second titled “Comparative Literature,” and the third titled “Novel Writing in Arabic Literature.”
