WNAM REPORT: A solemn festive event was held in Nurafshon city on the occasion of “Agricultural Workers’ Day.” It was attended by agricultural specialists, veterans, veterans, farmers and peasants, cluster owners, and all district and city officials who work effectively in the agricultural sector and contribute to the regional economy and the well-being of society.
First, flowers were laid at the foot of the “Matonat madhiyasi” memorial complex in the center of Nurafshan city, near the Patriot Park. After that, all participants arrived at the main venue where the event would be held. In a special pavilion here, guests got acquainted with the achievements of the agricultural sector, exhibitions that included locally grown fruit and vegetable products, and advanced agricultural technologies. They took photos for souvenirs. Everyone gathered around a lavish table. At the grand opening of the event, the Address to the Public by the Governor of Tashkent Region Zoyir Mirzayev was heard. He congratulated all the dedicated workers of the sector on the holiday and especially recognized the hard work of agricultural enthusiasts.As noted, in the coming year of 2025, high results were achieved in the region’s agriculture. In particular, 206 thousand tons of cotton and 828 thousand tons of grain were delivered to the country’s threshing floor. It is gratifying that 71 farmers increased their cotton yield by more than 60 centners, and about 130 farmers increased their grain yield by more than 100 centners. In cocoon farming, 2 thousand 42 tons of cocoons were produced from 32 thousand boxes, and the export volume reached 17 million dollars. This also created the basis for the creation of more than 88 thousand jobs in the industry. Steady growth was also observed in vegetable growing, horticulture, and melon growing. This year, 1.2 million tons of vegetables, 120 thousand tons of melons, 165 thousand tons of legumes, 135 thousand tons of grapes, and 260 thousand tons of fruits and spices were produced. In livestock farming, 841 thousand tons of milk, 260 thousand tons of meat, and 1.1 billion eggs were produced. In order to effectively use land, repeated grain harvests were obtained on 80 thousand hectares of land. At the same time, 4.1 thousand hectares of new land were developed.
At the holiday event, master farmers, advanced farmers, agronomists, mechanists, irrigators, exporters, and industry specialists who have achieved high yields and blessed harvests this year, as well as other sector activists who have contributed to the development of agriculture, were awarded in various nominations. A special video for agricultural workers was shown. Songs performed by popular artists and an artistic program prepared by the regional culture department gave the event a special touch. At the end, a festive firework was organized in honor of the industry workers in the central square decorated with a fir tree in Nurafshon.
