ISLAMABAD ( WNAM REPORT ): China Media Group, in collaboration with the Pakistan Board of Investment, organized a seminar on the theme: “Driving Innovation, Sharing Prosperity: A New Vision for China–Pakistan Economic Partnership.” The seminar was attended by experts in education, economics, international relations, think tanks, and senior journalists.
The chief guest was the Federal Minister for Investment, Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh.
Speaking at the seminar, the Federal Minister highlighted that Pakistan–China relations are historic and built on strong foundations. He noted that Pakistan can achieve new horizons of economic growth by learning from China’s experiences. He emphasized that China’s economic successes and its human-development-focused strategies are not only instructive for Pakistan but also provide guidance for investment and development initiatives.
The Minister highlighted incentives in Special Economic Zones, the Board of Investment’s Business Facilitation Centers, the Ease of Doing Business Act, and comprehensive regulatory reforms. He stressed that investor facilitation is a key driver of economic growth and that strengthening China–Pakistan economic cooperation can expand investment opportunities and help achieve long-term economic goals.
Sardar Tahir Mahmood, President of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry, praised China Media Group and the Board of Investment. He said ICCI will continue to play a key role in promoting Pakistan–China trade, joint ventures, youth engagement, startups, and entrepreneurship.
Renowned educationist Dr. Noor Fatima emphasized that Pakistan should focus on human resource development following the Chinese model. She said that a country’s people are the most important factor in economic growth and investment promotion. Investment in education, skills training, health, and a skilled workforce is essential for long-term development and to attract international investors.
Economist Dr. Jibran Hussain Raza highlighted China’s successful economic policies and gradual reforms that have elevated it to a leading global economy. He noted that the strong partnership between Pakistan and China has played a pivotal role in promoting investment and trade cooperation.
Nabila Jaffar, Head of the China Program at the Institute of Regional Studies, highlighted China’s five-year development plans and President Xi Jinping’s visionary policies. She said these strategies are strengthening China’s economy while creating vast opportunities for Pakistan–China cooperation, taking their economic partnership to new heights.
At the conclusion, participants reaffirmed their commitment to promoting China–Pakistan economic partnership and appreciated the support of China Media Group and the Board of Investment. They agreed that such seminars will continue to strengthen bilateral relations and create new investment opportunities in the future.
