WNAM REPORT: Leading Pakistani media outlets widely covered the contents of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s Address to the Oliy Majlis and to the people of Uzbekistan.
In particular, such news agencies and publications as DNA News, Pakistan Today, The World News, Margalla Tribune, Media Online Today, Daily Sub News, The Gulf Observer, The Europe Today, News Network Pakistan, as well as the Islamabad Post newspaper, published an article by Eldor Aripov, Director of the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan (ISRS).
They note that over the past decade, Uzbekistan’s economy has undergone a rapid process of qualitative and systemic renewal. In the mid-2010s, Uzbekistan’s nominal gross domestic product was approximately $60-$65 billion. Today, as noted in the Address, it has reached $145 billion. The point is that in an unprecedentedly short historical period, the scale of Uzbekistan’s economy has more than doubled.
Comparing dynamics over the past decade allows to draw an essential strategic conclusion: Uzbekistan is approaching a stage at which future development will be determined not by the scale of the economy but by its quality. Therefore, the central task in the Address was to increase labor productivity, technological renewal, and deepen industrialization.
Compared to the starting point ten years ago, the country’s economy has become more ambitious, diversified, and sustainable. These changes establish a long-term strategic framework for improving population well-being and strengthening Uzbekistan’s position in the regional and global economy.
The Pakistani press also emphasized that one of the most essential features of the Address is its vivid expression of the bond between the state and its citizens. This is especially noticeable in the extent to which the ongoing reforms meet the needs of the population.
