WNAM REPORT: By 2030, in accordance with the Uzbekistan 2030 Strategy, gas production is planned to increase to 62 billion cubic meters.

Modern exploration and investments in the field play a significant role in achieving this goal. The sustainable development of any country depends directly on the potential for the long-term, efficient development of energy resources and raw materials. In this process, natural gas becomes strategically essential as the primary energy source for the population and a basic resource for industrial sectors. This is a key factor ensuring economic stability.

According to experts, a phased increase in gas production will create a solid foundation for the country’s energy security. Systematic, comprehensive measures in this sector will enable the state to address several strategic objectives effectively.

Uzbekneftegaz’s efforts to establish new partnerships with international companies are a bright example in this area. It enters into agreements with foreign companies to attract investment, which contributes to the development of energy infrastructure and the consumer base. Plans for cooperation with Chinese oil and gas companies to expand exploration and introduce new technologies are under discussion.

The Head of State, getting acquainted with the presentation on the upcoming tasks and plans of Uzbekneftegaz JSC, paid special attention to the need to increase production efficiency in the gas sector, the widespread introduction of advanced technologies, and the strengthening of geological exploration.

Special attention will be paid to reviewing Uzbekneftegaz’s activities, introducing new technologies, and preventing corruption in society. After considering all measures to prevent corruption and threats, five key areas for combating corruption in this sector have been identified. Strict discipline and order will be established across these areas to prevent crime within the oil and gas system.

Uzbekistan has high potential in the oil and gas sector. This sector plays a significant role in the country’s economy. However, the problems observed in the extraction of natural gas and oil, in particular, the discovery of new deposits and the modernization of technologies, require strategic exploration.

Deputy Minister of Mining Industry and Geology Urol Sadullayev noted that specific tasks have been set to improve the efficiency of exploration work.

The consistent development of the gas production and processing industry will ensure the sustainable growth of the fuel and energy complex. As a result, Uzbekistan’s position in the regional and global energy system will be further strengthened. To this end, special attention is being paid to accelerating the energy sector’s development, broadening the attraction of foreign investment, and modernizing the industry.
