Railway journey between Karachi and Central Asia which has been an unfulfilled dream hitherto  is going to become a reality within 3 years connecting Pakistan-Kazakhstan -Afghanistan and Turkmenistan. Once materialized,  it will be a game changer and prove a milestone in this part of the world not only providing a new route to the tourists but would also boost trade and economy of the countries through which this railway track will pass. The president of  Kazakhstan is scheduled to visit Islamabad in a couple of days to sign an agreement in this respect.

The Apostles of Hinduta in BJP continue to make life difficult of religious minorities in India.  A case in point is recent assault on a Christian pastor of a church in Odisha in India. The hawkish element in BJP dominates moderates belonging to Advani  group within the BJP which  has been sidelined by Nirendra Modi and his henchmen inside the party.

It seems that the consensus public opinion over Pakistan’s decision joining the Gaza peace board is that it would have been better if it had been discussed threadbare in the parliament but now that it has been signed and sealed the best course would be that we should be overcautious in our role in it and should not allow ourselves to become a pawn in anybody’s hands.

Some political observers suspect that maybe Gaza peace board replace the UN which has failed miserably to control super powers from committing aggression against their enemy countries but many hold a different view saying that only 35 countries are signatory of Gaza Peace Board whereas the UN comprise about 140 counties so to suggest that this Board will replace the UN is a farfetched idea.
