WNAM MONITORING: The meeting of the parliamentary friendship groups of Azerbaijan, Republic of Türkiye and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus was held at Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis. TRNC Speaker of the Assembly Ziya Öztürkler stated that the concept of “three states, one nation” is gaining strenght, emphasizing that the Turkic world is bound by deep rooted ties based on a shared history, culture, and traditions.
The meeting was attended by Head of the Türkiye–Azerbaijan Interparliamentary Friendship Group, Member of Parliament Şamil Ayrım, Head of Türkiye–TRNC Friendship Group, Member of Parliament Orhan Erdem along with members of both friendship groups.
Also Head of the Azerbaijan–TRNC Interparliamentary Relations Friendship Group, Member of Parliament Cevanşir Feyziyev; Head of the Azerbaijan–Türkiye Interparliamentary Relations Friendship Group, Member of Parliament Ehliman Emirselanov along with other members of the friendship groups were present.
In his address, Speaker Öztürkler underlined the need to further strengthen solidarity within the Turkic world and to reinforce the TRNC’s position in the international arena.
Expressing satisfaction that the third meeting of the friendship groups was held in Baku, he noted that the first meeting which took place in the TRNC holds particular significance for them.
Öztürkler also stressed the importance of enhancing the TRNC’s representation on international platforms, highlighting to the goal of full membership in the Organization of Turkic States and TURKPA.
