WNAM MONITORING: One round of face-to-face talks between Iran and the United States has concluded in Islamabad, with the two sides now exchanging written texts on key issues under discussion, Iranian media reported.

Iran’s state media IRIB, citing a source close to the negotiating team, reported another round of talks could take place later tonight or on Sunday.

Expert teams from both sides are currently engaged in drafting and exchanging texts as negotiations move forward.

The latest development comes after earlier confirmation that the United States, Iran and Pakistan held a trilateral face-to-face meeting in Islamabad, according to a senior White House official.

Talks between Iran and the US have entered the expert-level stage, with economic, military, legal and nuclear committees joining the process, according to a statement shared by Iran’s government.

Negotiations are taking place at a hotel in the Pakistani capital, where technical discussions are focused on finalizing key issues following initial progress.

US Vice President J.D. Vance is leading the American delegation, which includes Steve Witkoff, the US special envoy, and Jared Kushner, a senior adviser and President Donald Trump’s son-in-law.

Iranian Parliament Speaker Bagher Qalibaf and his team, including Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and deputy to the National Security Council Ali Bagheri Kani, arrived in Islamabad early Saturday.

Pakistan is hosting the negotiations, aimed at ending the broader regional conflict amid a fragile two-week ceasefire brokered earlier this week.
