WNAM MONITORING: Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan held telephone conversations with US and Pakistani officials participating in the negotiations in Islamabad.
Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan held a telephone conversation with Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar.
According to sources within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Fidan’s phone call with Dar focused on the negotiations held in Islamabad between Iranian and US delegations.
US Vice President JD Vance announced that direct negotiations with Iran in Islamabad, Pakistan, had ended “without an agreement.”
JD Vance stated, “We’ve been working on this for 21 hours and have had a series of important discussions with the Iranians. That’s the good news. The bad news is that we haven’t reached an agreement. I think that’s worse news for Iran than for the U.S. So we’re returning to the U.S. without an agreement.”
Iranian media had suggested that the reason a common framework and agreement could not be reached at the Tehran-Washington talks in Islamabad was due to the excessive demands of the United States.
