Provincial Health Minister visits Benazir Bhutto Hospital Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI ( WNAM REPORT):  Provincial Health Minister Punjab Khawaja Salman Rafique along with Member National Assembly Tahira Aurangzeb made a surprise visit to Benazir Bhutto Hospital Rawalpindi. He visited the area where there was water leakage (seepage) in the hospital and an unusual increase in the groundwater level. On this occasion, it was directed to conduct a detailed assessment of the groundwater level and start work soon to solve the problem of water leakage in the basement for a long-term solution. Provincial Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique also visited various departments of the hospital. On this occasion, Vice Chancellor Rawalpindi Medical University Professor Dr. Muhammad Umar and other faculty members were also present. He inquired about the treatment facilities provided to the patients who came for treatment.
On this occasion, Minister Health Khawaja Salman Rafique said that the best treatment for the patients coming to the hospital is the top priority. All measures are being taken to ensure the provision of quality medical facilities to the patients. No compromise will be made on human health. An important meeting was also held under the chairmanship of the provincial minister regarding the problems of water leakage and abnormal increase in groundwater level in BBH. C&W, WASA and the hospital administration briefed the provincial health minister about water leakage and groundwater level. It was informed in the briefing that the main reason for seepage is the high groundwater level. It was also directed to immediately ensure a permanent and sustainable solution to the problem of seepage by conducting a study on scientific grounds and to conduct a survey. Water leakage in the hospital is harmful to the infrastructure. NESPAK and UET have been instructed to conduct a study so that a scientific determination can be made. Providing a clean environment to patients is the responsibility of the hospital administration. No negligence will be tolerated in this regard. Punjab Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique also visited the under-construction Children’s Hospital Rawalpindi. A briefing was given by the concerned authorities regarding the ongoing development work in the hospital. The provincial minister also directed to complete the development work within the stipulated time. On this occasion, he said that in the light of the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, steps are being taken to provide modern health facilities in the hospitals. No compromise will be made on the quality and speed of the ongoing development work in the hospital. On this occasion, Member of National Assembly Tahira Aurangzeb said that the Punjab Chief Minister has taken practical steps to ensure that quality health facilities are within the reach of the people. The latest health facilities will be provided in Children’s Hospital Rawalpindi. The best public health is the top priority of the government.
