It goes without saying that tribesmen of FATA have always proved their loyalty to Pakistan despite New Delhi’s great efforts to foment trouble in Pakistan, courtesy Afghanistan, It is in the evidence that rulers in Kabul had allotted fruit gardens and residential property to many tribal chieftains of FATA in Afghanistan and also fixed monthly allowance for them but in vain as rank and file tribesmen saw through the Indian game and rebuffed those tribal elders instead of giving their ear to them with the result that they returned utterly disappointed to their homeland. Needless to say when during the freedom struggle before partition of the sub continent Gandhi and Nehru had visited tribal area for mustering support for their political cause they had been cold shouldered by tribesmen rank and file and they had come to realise that it would be well nigh impossible to make inroads into FATA politically.
