RIYADH ( WNAM MONITORING): Saudi Arabia condemned on Wednesday a wave of deadly attacks against police officers and soldiers in the Pakistani southwestern province of Balochistan.
The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned “all terrorist and extremist acts.” It affirmed its solidarity with the government and people of Pakistan and supported security efforts to preserve the country’s territorial integrity.
It also expressed its condolences to the families of those who have died in the attacks, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
Authorities announced on Wednesday that 42 military and police officers had been killed in three separate attacks in Balochistan since Monday. That day, militants attacked a guard post at the Mangi Dam project in Balochistan’s Ziarat district, killing 18 police officers. The death toll includes four civilians.
Forces killed 54 militants in several operations in the region that borders Afghanistan and Iran, which has experienced decades of turmoil between separatist groups and the government in Islamabad.
