Need For New Shorter Road Links

It is in the evidence that some troops of Alexander the Great had used Nawa Pass hilly route to cross into Chitral . The road which goes to Bajuar from Mohmand branches off to Nawa Pass after driving on it for an hour or so. One enters into Chitral via Arandu and Mir Khani after driving on it but some patch of this road lies in Afghanistan ‘s territory. If through a dialogue Kabul authorities are made to agree on the use of this all weather patch of road by Pakistani transporters those desirous of visiting Chitral from Peshawar can reach it in a matter of few hours avoiding arduous road journey through Lowari Pass.
In the same manner if Afghan government is made to agree use of its area in Herat by Pakistani transporters for running buses up to Mashad from Peshawar the visitors from Peshawar can reach Iran in a matter of few hours.

Needless to say at the moment a fairly big time is spent on road and train journey to both these countries from Pakistan. Isn’t it a pity that these three countries which share common religion and their inhabitants speak more or less the same language having similar customs to a great extent stand divided, thanks to political interference of the super powers. If European nations can group themselves into EC why can’t these three next door neighbors?
