ISLAMABAD ( WNAM REPORT ):Muhammad Nauman, Executive Member of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) and President of D-12 Markaz, has said that the Islamabad Governance Convention is the first step towards the future of Islamabad. He said that the citizens of Islamabad need a governance system in which public representation, authority, and accountability are linked through a clear and effective mechanism.
He said that the existing system is no longer adequate to meet the city’s growing administrative, civic, and public service needs. Citizens of Islamabad currently have no directly elected and empowered forum to hold authorities accountable for issues related to sanitation, water supply, traffic management, infrastructure, taxes, municipal services, and other civic matters.
He emphasized that, to achieve this objective, all stakeholders should come together at one platform, present their views, and play their role in developing a meaningful and practical roadmap for the future governance of Islamabad.
