WNAM REPORT: Vice President Ma’ruf Amin emphasized that a peaceful and inclusive process of transition to a new government would result in the political stability required to ensure the success of official programs.
“A peaceful and inclusive power transition is of the essence to pave the way for democratic consolidation that will lead to political stability and support the government’s programs,” he remarked at the Vice Presidential Palace, Jakarta, on Wednesday.
Speaking during a public lecture for participants of the education program of the National Resilience Institute (Lemhannas), Amin reminded that the Indonesian nation had succeeded in holding the 2024 General Elections in a peaceful and orderly manner.
He underscored the need for the nation to view the success story as a catalyst for strengthening Indonesia’s democracy.
“Our next task is to embrace all elements to unite and bring progress to the Indonesian nation while ensuring that the government transition process runs in a peaceful and inclusive manner,” he pointed out.
Amin noted that in its final months in office, the current administration will continue to make all-out efforts to ensure the continuation of all development programs in various sectors, especially infrastructure, education, health, and economy.
Earlier, President Joko Widodo made a similar statement, highlighting the importance of actualizing a peaceful government transition to maintain national political stability and create a good international image for Indonesia.
“We need to pay special attention to political stability, as we cannot afford to let political turbulence occur. That way, we will be able to ensure a smooth power transition. This is important for Indonesia’s international image,” he remarked.
The president made the statement during the plenary cabinet meeting on the current economy at the State Palace, Jakarta, on June 24.
