WNAM MONITORING: President of Turkmenistan and Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General of the Army Serdar Berdimuhamedov, convened an expanded session of the State Security Council on Wednesday. During the meeting, military and law enforcement agencies reported on their performance in 2024 and outlined key priorities for 2025, as reported by official media of Turkmenistan.
Secretary of the State Security Council and Minister of Defense, Begench Gundogdyyev, reported on the implementation of the Armed Forces Development Program, the digitization of processes, the improvement of officer training, and the enhancement of conditions for military personnel.
Minister of Internal Affairs, Muhammet Hydyrov, presented updates on maintaining public order, combating crime, introducing digital technologies, and constructing new facilities for Ministry of Internal Affairs divisions. Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the need to further improve the work of internal affairs bodies, including traffic oversight and fire safety services.
Leaders of other agencies, including the prosecutor’s office, courts, national security services, and border troops, detailed their achievements and future plans. They highlighted progress in digitization, infrastructure modernization, and development programs.
The discussions focused heavily on improving staff training, refining the legal framework, and enhancing international cooperation.
In his closing remarks, the head of state reminded attendees that Turkmenistan celebrates the Day of Defenders of the Homeland on January 27. He stressed the critical role of military personnel in maintaining the nation’s security and stability and congratulated them on the upcoming holiday.
The Supreme Commander-in-Chief encouraged meeting participants to continue their dedicated efforts for the benefit of the people and the state, wishing them success in their service.
