WNAM MONITORING: Turkmenistan is starting to implement 5G technology – the first new generation network will be deployed in the city of Arkadag. This became known during the working visit of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to the city’s Communications Department, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
Base stations manufactured by the Chinese company Huawei have already been installed to test the technology. According to the Director General of the Agency for Transport and Communications Mammethan Chakyev, the 5G network will provide high data throughput and will allow hundreds of thousands of devices to be connected in an area of one square kilometer.
The new technology will be used to manage smart city and smart home systems, and will also find application in healthcare, education, industry and agriculture. The 5G network will operate via the national communications satellite TürkmenÄlem 52°E, which will provide the necessary frequency range for its operation.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov stressed the importance of training specialists to work with the new technology and the need to follow best practices when implementing it. The launch of the 5G network in the city of Arkadag is planned for the near future.
