Astana  ( WNAM REPORT ):  Kazakhstan has officially launched a bold new international campaign titled “Born Bold” to promote itself as a top-tier destination for global investment, innovation, and tourism. The initiative aims to position the Central Asian nation as a modern, forward-looking economy with enormous potential across a wide range of sectors, including logistics, education, energy, and tourism.

The “Born Bold” campaign, unveiled in June 2025, underscores the nation’s ambition to establish itself as a dynamic player on the world stage. Officials say the campaign represents not just a slogan but a reflection of the national spirit, rooted in the courage and determination of Kazakhstan’s people – qualities deeply tied to the country’s nomadic heritage. This theme was reinforced by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev during his speech at the opening of the World Nomad Games in September 2024, where he stated that “Kazakhs are born courageous.”

A Global Investment Destination

With the world’s ninth-largest landmass and the biggest economy in Central Asia, Kazakhstan is strategically leveraging its geographic position and economic reforms to attract international investors. The campaign invites businesses, entrepreneurs, and governments to explore Kazakhstan’s evolving economy and contribute to a shared vision of sustainable growth.

Kazakhstan’s government has identified four major areas of focus:

1. Logistics and Transportation
The country is redefining its historic role as a global trade conduit through the modernization of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR), also known as the Middle Corridor. This multimodal route is designed to reconnect Europe and Asia, echoing the legacy of the ancient Silk Road, while delivering reduced freight times, improved regional integration, and enhanced global trade security. As an overland bridge between East and West, Kazakhstan is poised to become a major logistics hub for the 21st century.

2. Youth and Education
Kazakhstan ranks 9th globally on the United Nations Education Index and boasts a 100% literacy rate, reflecting the country’s deep investment in human capital. With 15 international universities operating within its borders, the country is rapidly becoming a magnet for overseas students and a hotbed for digital innovation. Campaign materials spotlight Kazakhstan’s highly skilled, tech-savvy youth as future leaders in digital industries, supported by burgeoning partnerships with global tech giants such as Microsoft, Amazon, and Mastercard.

3. Energy and Environment
As the ninth-largest country in the world, Kazakhstan has massive potential to become a global renewable energy powerhouse. Officials say the country could generate more than 10 times its domestic energy needs through sustainable sources, particularly wind and solar. The government is heavily investing in energy diversification, seeking to reduce dependence on fossil fuels and position Kazakhstan as a leader in clean technology and green finance.

4. Tourism and Culture
Kazakhstan’s diverse natural beauty is increasingly drawing attention from global travelers. From the snow-capped peaks resembling the French Alps to deserts reminiscent of the Sahara, the country offers stunning contrasts in geography – including canyons, forests, lakes, and the Caspian coastline. Major infrastructure developments, such as the recently opened Hazret Sultan International Airport and its growing list of international flight routes, are opening the doors to millions of tourists. By 2030, the country aims to attract 20 million visitors annually.

A Reform-Driven, Stable Nation

Kazakhstan is also making major strides in governance, judicial independence, and political transparency. Reforms aimed at democratization and rule of law are helping to foster a stable and attractive environment for investors. With a business-friendly climate, robust infrastructure, and ongoing economic diversification into high-tech sectors like AI and fintech, the country is becoming a destination of choice for companies looking for emerging market opportunities with long-term stability.

A Call to the World

Kazakhstan’s leadership hopes that the “Born Bold” campaign will serve as a rallying call to global investors, innovators, and travelers to engage with the country’s bold new vision. “We invite global investors, businesses, and innovators to harness the bold spirit of our population, explore Kazakhstan’s many opportunities, engage with our vibrant economy, and contribute to a shared vision of sustainable progress,” the campaign declaration states.

As Kazakhstan embraces its cultural identity while driving forward with modernization, the “Born Bold” campaign encapsulates the spirit of a nation ready to lead – not just regionally, but globally.
