President of Turkmenistan Attends Festive Horse Races in Ashgabat

WNAM MONITORING: Turkmenistan’s President Serdar Berdimuhamedov participated on Sunday in festive horse races at the renovated Ashgabat Equestrian Sports Complex, held in honor of the country’s 34th Independence Day, according to official Turkmen media.

A total of seven races were conducted over distances of 1,600 and 2,200 meters. In the final race, the main prize from the head of state was awarded to the stallion Bezirgen from the President’s Ahal-Teke Equestrian Complex, who completed the distance in 2 minutes and 34.5 seconds.

Then an awards ceremony was held for the winners. They expressed their gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan and the National Leader of the Turkmen people for their extensive efforts in developing equestrian sports in Turkmenistan, and pledged to do their utmost to further enhance the global recognition of the heavenly horses.

Following the conclusion of the celebrations at the Ashgabat Equestrian Sports Complex, President Berdimuhamedov warmly bid farewell to attendees before departing the venue.

Turkmenistan’s Independence Day is one of the country’s key national holidays, traditionally marked by large-scale cultural and sporting events. Special emphasis is placed on the organization of festive horse races, which are prepared at the highest level of professionalism.
