Chess Federation of Pakistan Delegation Meets Kazakhstan Ambassador to Strengthen Sports Diplomacy

ISLAMABAD (WNAM REPORT): In a significant move to advance sports diplomacy, a high-level delegation of the Chess Federation of Pakistan (CFP) called on His Excellency Yerzhan Kistafin, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Pakistan, at the Embassy of Kazakhstan on Friday. The CFP delegation was led by its newly elected President, Syed Zeeshan Ali Naqvi, and comprised senior office bearers: Mr. Anwar Saleem, Senior Vice President; Ms. Nadia Gillani, Honorary Vice President; and Raja Gauhar Iqbal, General Secretary.
Discussions focused on the mutual promotion of chess and the enhancement of bilateral cooperation between the two federations. Ambassador Kistafin warmly congratulated the new CFP leadership on assuming office. Reaffirming Kazakhstan’s commitment to developing chess in Pakistan, the Ambassador assured the delegation of Kazakhstan’s full support in key areas, including infrastructure development, coaching, and technical training.
A key outcome of the meeting was the mutual agreement to facilitate an exchange of delegations between the Chess Federation of Pakistan and the Kazakhstan Chess Federation. The initiative is expected to create avenues for knowledge sharing, joint training camps, and participation in international events hosted by both countries.
Expressing gratitude, CFP President Syed Zeeshan Ali Naqvi thanked Ambassador Kistafin for his continued encouragement and unwavering support for chess in Pakistan. He noted that such diplomatic engagements are essential to raising the standard of the game in Pakistan and providing local players with valuable international exposure.
