WNAM MONITORING: A delegation of the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan made a working visit to Kazakhstan on February 15-16, where they discussed with the leadership of the Ministry of Culture of Kazakhstan and the Akimat of Astana the holding of Culture Days of the two countries in 2024.
The Turkmen side informed about preparations for the ceremonial holding of its Culture Days in Astana this year. Noting the importance of such events for strengthening ties between peoples, the Kazakh side assured of its readiness to provide comprehensive assistance in the organization. In turn, Kazakhstan put forward the initiative to hold its Culture Days in Turkmenistan in the fall of 2024.
In addition, the meeting participants discussed the progress of work on installing monuments to the classics of the two countries – the Turkmen poet Magtymguly Fragi in Astana and the Kazakh poet Abai Kunanbayuly in Ashgabat. Particular attention was paid to the construction of a unique Friendship Park in the Magtymguly Fragi cultural and park complex in the Turkmen capital.
Emphasizing the importance of the negotiations for strengthening friendly ties, the Turkmen Ambassador to Kazakhstan Batyr Rejepov invited the Kazakh delegation to take part in the international conference of ministers of culture in Ashgabat in 2024, which is declared in Turkmenistan as the Year of “The Fount of the Mind of Magtymguly Fragi.”
At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to maintain regular contacts on issues of cultural cooperation.
