ISLAMABAD ( WNAM REPORT): The Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) has further strengthened its member facilitation services by establishing a Passport Counter of NADRA and an Overseas Facilitation Desk at the ICCI premises.
The Passport Counter was inaugurated by Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, in the presence of Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, ICCI President Sardar Tahir Mehmood, Senior Vice President Tahir Ayub, Vice President Mohammad Irfan Chaudhry former President Mohammad Ejaz Abbasi and other business leaders.
The Minister appreciated ICCI’s initiative and expressed the hope that the facility would provide greater convenience to the business community and encourage ICCI members to make full use of the service. Director General NADRA Syed Gohar Abbas Jaffery and the Director Immigration & Passports, Headquarters were also present.
The Overseas Facilitation Desk was subsequently unveiled by Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, alongside Members of the National Assembly Anjum Aqeel Khan and Ms.Farrah Naz Akbar, ICCI President Sardar Tahir Mehmood, Senior Vice President Tahir Ayub, Vice President Mohammad Irfan Chaudhry and other members of the business community.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry appreciated ICCI’s proactive approach towards addressing the practical needs of its members and particularly commended President Sardar Tahir Mehmood for his commitment to strengthening business facilitation. He said that initiatives which bring public services directly to the business community can save valuable time, reduce procedural difficulties and contribute to a more business-friendly environment.
The establishment of these facilities reflects ICCI’s continued focus on practical, service-oriented facilitation, aimed at making government services more accessible to its members while reducing the need for repeated visits to different government offices.
ICCI President Sardar Tahir Mehmood said that “a Chamber’s effectiveness is ultimately measured by the ease and value it creates for its members.” He said ICCI was committed to converting its advocacy into visible, practical and member-centric services, adding that the Passport Counter and Overseas Facilitation Desk were established with the same objective.
