WNAM REPORT: Tashkent hosted the 3rd Uzbekistan – Germany Medical Forum.
The event brought together representatives of leading medical institutions from both countries, along with scientists and healthcare experts, to discuss some of the most pressing issues in modern medicine. Discussions focused on high-tech surgical procedures, advanced disease treatments, improving the quality of medical education, and expanding bilateral scientific cooperation.During the forum’s panel sessions, specialists discussed Uzbekistan’s recent achievements and extensive experience in developing healthcare services. They also reached important agreements with German counterparts to introduce modern high-tech equipment into clinical practice, strengthen specialists’ professional qualifications, and launch joint scientific and practical projects in the future.
Several projects are being successfully implemented in partnership with Germany’s KfW Bank to modernize medical centers, advance digitalization in healthcare, and improve the quality of medical education.
It was noted that partnerships have been established with the universities of Freiburg, Heidelberg, and Lübeck in Germany. Many doctors have completed advanced training abroad, and clinics are introducing artificial intelligence technologies.
The forum also featured special sessions focused on preventing infectious diseases, high-tech surgery, and creating decent working conditions for nurses from Uzbekistan in Germany. Following the forum, several leading medical and higher education institutions in Uzbekistan and Germany signed memoranda to expand cooperation.
