WNAM REPORT: Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) Islamabad will host the National TRANSVISION Summit 2026 on September 30 at 1:00 PM, bringing together the country’s top linguists, translators and academics to shape the future of translation studies in the age of Artificial Intelligence.
The summit titled “Shaping the future of Translation Studies in Pakistan in the age of AI” is aimed at initiating a national dialogue on how Translation Studies, Applied Linguistics, language technology, terminology, corpora, AI and language policy can collectively contribute to a stronger national linguistic and knowledge infrastructure.
According to AIOU, leading universities, institutions, organizations, scholars, translators and intellectuals from across Pakistan will participate in the high-level event.
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Wasim Uddin, former Professor, Superior University Lahore, will be the Chief Guest on the occasion, while Vice Chancellor AIOU Prof. Dr. Nasir Mahmood will chair the summit.
Guests of Honor include Prof Dr Syeda Faleeha Zahra Kazmi, Chairperson Pakistan Chair, Prof Dr M. Saleem Mazhar, DG National Language Promotion Department, Dr Aalia Sohail Khan, Country Director, American Institute of Pakistan Studies, Prof Dr Najeeba Arif, former Chairperson Pakistan Academy of Letters, Prof Dr Saadat Hassan Saeed, Mr Khurshid Ahmed Nadeem, Mr Muhammad Hameed Shahid, Mr Muhammad Siddique Awan, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Butt, Dr Muhammad Khawar Nawazish and Prof Dr Jamil Asghar Jami.
The summit is being organized in collaboration with several universities, including University of Gujrat and others.
