ISLAMABAD ( WNAM REPORT): Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani has congratulated the officers and personnel of the Pakistan Navy and the nation on the first successful live weapon firing of the Pakistan Navy’s new Hangor submarine, describing the achievement as a significant milestone in strengthening Pakistan’s maritime defence capabilities.
The Chairman Senate said that the successful live weapon firing demonstrated the high professional competence, advanced combat capabilities and operational readiness of the Pakistan Navy. He said the Pakistan Navy has consistently played a vital role in safeguarding the country’s maritime frontiers and national
interests.
Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani appreciated the professional performance of the Pakistan Navy under the leadership of Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf, particularly its efforts to enhance operational capabilities and modernise maritime defence in line with emerging requirements.
He said that the Hangor submarine, equipped with modern technology and advanced combat systems, would further strengthen Pakistan’s maritime defence capabilities.
He also appreciated the defence and technical cooperation between Pakistan and China, noting that such cooperation was contributing to the enhancement of Pakistan’s defence capabilities.
The Chairman Senate paid tribute to the officers and personnel of the Pakistan Navy for their professional commitment and services to national defence, saying that the entire nation takes pride in the capabilities of its Armed Forces and their unwavering commitment to defending the country.
