ISLAMABAD ( WNAM REPORT ): On September 27, Turkmenistan’s Independence Day, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan extended congratulations to the Government and people of Turkmenistan through its official X account, wishing them peace, prosperity, and continued development of the friendly relations between the two countries.
As part of an information campaign marking the anniversary, a video showcasing Turkmenistan’s achievement over the years of independence was displayed from September 25 to 27, 2026, on facade screen of The Centaurus Mall, Islamabad’s the largest shopping center, as well as the Mövenpick Hotel located within the complex. The initiative brought the anniversary message to one of the capital’s most prominent and highly frequented public spaces.
The anniversary was also widely covered across Pakistan’s media landscape. Pakistan TV, the central state broadcaster in English and Urdu, Hum News, a leading private television channel, and a number of news agencies and online media outlets, including Diplomatic Insight, published reports and features dedicated to Turkmenistan’s 35th Independence Anniversary and related celebrations on their websites and social media platforms.
The coverage introduced Pakistani audiences to Turkmenistan’s achievements since independence, its socio-economic development, and the longstanding friendly and fraternal ties between Turkmenistan and Pakistan. The extensive media coverage, the public information campaign in the heart of Islamabad, and the official congratulatory message from Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs highlighted the significance attached to the anniversary and contributed to further strengthening mutual understanding and the bonds of friendship between the peoples of the two countries.
On the occasion, numerous prominent figures and representatives of Pakistan’s media, civil society, and business communities conveyed their sincere congratulations to the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Islamabad, extending wishes for peace, well-being, and prosperity to Turkmenistan and for the continued strengthening and dynamic development of Turkmenistan–Pakistan relations.
