WNAM REPORT: Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb met with Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) CEO Bill Winters in London, where he expressed appreciation for the bank’s continued support of Pakistan and its role in various financing and capital market transactions.
The discussion also touched on Pakistan’s ongoing structural reforms and recent macroeconomic developments.
The two sides explored potential areas for future collaboration between the Government of Pakistan and SCB, including tokenization, international Sukuk issuances, and other financing avenues.
It was noted that SCB’s extensive investor network across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia could play a valuable role in expanding investor outreach and raising Pakistan’s profile in international markets.
The meeting also covered possible capital market transactions to support the government’s privatization programme, spanning opportunities on both the buy-side and sell-side.
