WNAM MONITORING: Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, during his meeting with the President of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan extended an invitation to the Turkish leader to visit Turkmenistan and participate in international events dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of Magtymguly Pyragy.
As reported by the official media of Turkmenistan on Sunday Chairman of Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan discussed matters pertaining to the export of Turkmen electricity and swap deliveries of Turkmen natural gas to Türkiye.
The leaders also explored possibilities for collaboration in the transport and communication sectors.
The National Leader of the Turkmen people responded to a question regarding the development of international cooperation in the energy sector, emphasizing the diversification of energy delivery routes, the legal aspects of energy resource exports, and highlighting the adoption of the International Convention on the Legal Status of the Caspian Sea in 2018.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized the potential for transporting Turkmen natural gas to Türkiye, utilizing transit routes through the Caspian Sea and Azerbaijan.
In response to a question about Turkmenistan joining the Organization of Turkic States, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that at the upcoming summit dedicated to Magtymguly Pyragy, the country could attain the status of a full-fledged member of the Organization of Turkic States.
