WNAM MONITORING: The entrepreneur’s proposal to create orchards on undeveloped lands was supported during the Head of state’s visit to Fergana region in June 2020.
This agricultural project is currently being implemented in several stages. In the first two years, 450 hectares of intensive orchards were created, and drip irrigation was established. Export-oriented varieties of cherries and peaches will soon begin to bear fruit.
During today’s visit, the President got acquainted with the Uz-Segang JV orchard and inquired about the entrepreneur’s problems and proposals.
The enterprise was allocated about 2 thousand hectares in Quva district and 1.6 thousand hectares in Quvasoy city.

Last year, the enterprise collected 1.7 thousand tons of cherries, peaches, and pomegranates from farms and households, exporting products worth more than $5 million. This year, the goal is to increase the export volume to $15 million.
The enterprise is not limited to growing and exporting fruits. Advanced technologies from Italy, Türkiye, South Korea, and China have been introduced, and product storage, processing, and packaging have been established.
The President emphasized the need to increase the number of such projects and expressed his readiness to support any proposals.
A presentation of the region’s agro-industrial products was also held here. Further plans in the sphere were presented.
