WNAM REPORT: General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee Xi Jinping on Saturday sent a message to To Lam, congratulating him on his election as general secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee.
In the congratulatory message, Xi said he was glad to learn that To Lam has been elected as general secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and would like to extend warm congratulations to To Lam on behalf of the CPC Central Committee and in his own name.
Noting that China and Vietnam are friendly socialist neighbors linked by mountains and rivers, Xi said that during his state visit to Vietnam last December, the two sides jointly announced the building of a China-Vietnam community with a shared future that carries strategic significance, opening up a new journey and a new chapter in the relations between the two parties as well as the two countries.
Xi said he stands ready to work with To Lam to guide the substantial development of building a China-Vietnam community with a shared future, jointly carry forward traditional friendship, consolidate mutual political trust, deepen strategic communication, and promote practical cooperation, so as to bring more benefits to the two peoples and make positive contributions to the cause of peace and progress of mankind.
