WNAM REPORT: The delegation that visited Uzbekistan, led by President of the International Chess Federation Arkady Dvorkovich, got acquainted with the preparations for the 46th World Chess Olympiad, which will be held in two years, and the Tashkent 2025 Asian Youth Games.
The FIDE President emphasized that the special attention paid by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the popularization of chess in Uzbekistan has yielded results in a short period, and acknowledged that in the next 6-7 years, Uzbekistan will see colossal progress not only in sports, but also in all other areas. He noted that the Olympic Village being built in Tashkent, in terms of its scale, communication, and logistical capabilities, will make an incomparable contribution to the development of professional sports not only in the country, but also in the world. At the Tashkent 2025 Asian and Asian Para Games, young men and women will compete in 29 sports.
