WNAM REPORT: The Center for Public Diplomacy of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Uzbekistan organized the First International Congress “Public Diplomacy of Uzbekistan: Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow”.
The event was attended by experts from partner organizations of the United Arab Emirates, Russia, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Pakistan and Tajikistan.As part of the congress, members of foreign delegations expressed a desire to visit one of the schools in the capital to get acquainted with the reforms carried out in secondary education in the country and with the conditions created for the in-depth education of young people .
In particular, an excursion was organized to school No. 110, located in Mirabad district of the capital.Representatives of the school administration familiarized the guests in detail with the activities of the educational institution. Members of the delegation took direct part in the educational process, got acquainted with the conditions and equipment available in the classrooms, and visited the gym, swimming pool, planetarium, school kitchen, and library.
Having visited an 8th-grade English lesson, the people’s diplomats were delighted with the children’s skills. The students freely and amicably conversed with the members of the delegations in English.
The guests also particularly noted the activities of the school library since, in addition to traditional books, all kinds of electronic publications can be found there.Foreign experts highly appreciated what they saw and noted the need to introduce a similar education system in their countries.
