WNAM REPORT: Russian Ambassador to Turkmenistan Ivan Volynkin, in his New Year’s greetings published on the Embassy’s website, noted that the past year was famous for many significant events for Turkmenistan.
“The 300th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding poet and thinker Makhtumkuli Fragi was celebrated on an unprecedented scale. This significant date was widely celebrated outside Turkmenistan, including in Russia. The ceremonial events dedicated to the announcement of the city of Anau as the cultural capital of the Turkic world were successfully held. The first anniversary of the opening of the smart city of Arkadag was widely celebrated in the country, new modern factories, complex infrastructure facilities, broadband highways between cities, picturesque parks and grandiose monuments were put into operation,” the congratulatory message says.
The year 2024, which has come to an end, has become special for Russian-Turkmen relations, which have once again proven their strategic level. Cooperation has been steadily developing in all areas, be it economic cooperation, political dialogue or humanitarian ties, the ambassador noted. He also expressed confidence that 2025 will be bright and eventful, and one of its most important events will be the celebrations in honor of the 80th anniversary of the common Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
Taking this opportunity, Ivan Volynkin wished the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov good health, prosperity and further achievements for the benefit of the Turkmen people.
