WNAM REPORT: A meeting was held in the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan with a delegation led by Le Thi Hang Thu, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
During discussions with Sodiq Safoyev, First Deputy Chairman of the Senate, the parties explored ways to expand cooperation between Uzbekistan and Vietnam. It was noted that Uzbekistan views Vietnam as an essential and reliable partner in Southeast Asia. Both countries have great potential for developing political, trade-economic, investment, and cultural-humanitarian ties. Strengthening political dialogue, interparliamentary cooperation, and joint projects of mutual interest were highlighted as key priorities. The growing role of parliamentary diplomacy in fostering bilateral relations was emphasized.
Additionally, it was noted that Vietnam’s parliamentary leadership has shown interest in participating in the 150th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, set to take place in Tashkent on April 5-9.
Following the meeting, both sides expressed readiness to support joint initiatives to develop cooperation.
