ISLAMABAD ( WNAM REPORT ): The Ambassador of Uzbekistan, H.E.Alisher Tuktaev hosted a grand celebration in Islamabad to mark the joyous festival of Navruz, highlighting its cultural significance, values of unity, and the strong bond between Uzbekistan and Pakistan.
The event, attended by diplomats, government officials, business leaders, and members of the media, served as a platform to promote peace, friendship, and cooperation between the two nations.
In his address, the Ambassador warmly welcomed the guests and extended his heartfelt greetings on the occasion of Navruz and Ramadan.
He noted that Navruz, meaning “New Day,” has been celebrated for over 3,000 years across Central Asia, the Middle East, the Caucasus, and South Asia. The festival is deeply rooted in universal values such as peace, harmony, and gratitude for nature’s blessings. “Navruz transcends borders, uniting millions of people regardless of language, ethnicity, or nationality,” he added. “It reminds us that we are all connected by shared traditions and values.”
“Today, we are honored to share sumalak with our Pakistani friends as a symbol of our enduring friendship, brotherhood, and mutual respect,” he remarked. The Ambassador also highlighted the historical and cultural ties between Uzbekistan and Pakistan, noting that both countries share a common heritage enriched by centuries of cultural exchange, trade, and shared traditions.
“Uzbekistan and Pakistan enjoy strong brotherly ties, and we remain committed to strengthening our bilateral cooperation across all sectors,” he stated.Reflecting on regional peace and cooperation, the Ambassador reaffirmed Uzbekistan’s dedication to promoting people-to-people connections, enhancing trade partnerships, and supporting initiatives for regional stability and prosperity.
In a special gesture, the Ambassador extended his warm wishes to the people of Pakistan on the occasion of 23rd March – Pakistan Day, expressing his sincere prayers for Pakistan’s peace, progress, and prosperity. The Ambassador concluded his remarks with a powerful expression of solidarity:
