WNAM MONITORING: Turkmenistan has begun preparations to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945. Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Bayramgul Orazdurdiyeva reported on the preparations during a regular Cabinet meeting.
Ahead of the anniversary, patriotic events are planned across the country and in the capital, including discussions, musical gatherings, exhibitions, and flower-laying ceremonies at memorials and monuments.
Among the key sites are the Halk Hakydasy memorial complex, monuments to military glory in the provinces, and the statue of soldier and patriot Berdimuhammet Annayev. Veterans and home front workers will also receive commemorative gifts, Orazdurdiyeva added.
President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, after hearing the report, emphasized the importance of instilling patriotism, courage, and respect for the heroic deeds of the older generation among the youth. The head of state instructed officials to organize the commemorative events at a high level and to ensure that gifts are presented to veterans and mothers who contributed to the home front during the war.
Several other national issues were also discussed at the Cabinet meeting.
